Truth and Reconciliation - were 2 Hunters a legitimate threat to the Spirit dropship?

As the title says - you get to the end of TnR and Keyes takes the dropship.

The Hunter pair appears and Keyes introduces them to the blunt end of the dropship. "Nice one Sir!"

Were they a threat? It seems quite the risk, after all you've gone through to get the Captain, for him to show off and potentially smash the Master Chief, Cortana and Keyes himself all over the hangar bay just to have a bit of fun against two Hunters.

Or should I just stop and just appreciate the coolness of it?! Hoorah!
