Prepaid HMO cards from Shopee/Lazada

I’m planning to take a career break soon, and all my HMOs in the past have been employer-provided. Now I’m trying to figure out how to stay covered while I’m on break.

I’ve had some recent health concerns (nothing major, generally healthy overall), so I really want to make sure I’m protected. Ideally, I know getting a proper individual plan is better long-term, but I’m also exploring quicker or more accessible options for now.

I’ve seen prepaid HMO cards from PhilCare and Maxicare being sold on Shopee and Lazada. Reviews seem okay, but I’m a bit skeptical.

Has anyone here actually tried those prepaid HMO cards? How was the claiming process? Any issues with activation or using it under your name? How’s the customer service? Would you recommend a specific product?
