buying advice for nintendo dsi xl

hey everyone, thinking of buying a nintendo dsi xl for my girlfriend for our anniversary and found a listing that seems really good. it’s on facebook marketplace, only like 10 minutes from my place, so i can test it in person before buying (which is a huge plus for me, and whats been holding me from buying on ebay)

the listing includes:

• nintendo dsi xl console

• stylus

• charger

the seller wants $120 but I offered $100 cuz I can pickup asap (today). from what i’ve seen on ebay, working dsi xl units with stylus and charger usually go for $120–$180, though some go for $90–$110 but those are often japanese versions, which i don’t want because the language can’t be changed.

the unit looks perfect in the photos, just a few scratches.

questions:

• is $100 a good deal for a used dsi xl with stylus and charger?

• what should i check when testing it before buying

• would you buy from marketplace to test in person, or wait and risk buying online?

• anything specific i should check when i see it in person to make sure it’s fully functional?
