Anyone here using an Employer of Record in Singapore to hire overseas employees?

I run a small tech company in Singapore and we’re looking to hire our first overseas developer. I’ve been researching Employer of Record (EOR) services in Singapore as an alternative to setting up a foreign entity.

On paper, using a global payroll or EOR platform sounds easier for international hiring compliance. But I’m trying to understand the real experience.

For those who’ve hired remote employees through an EOR:

  • Did it actually simplify things?
  • How transparent were the costs?
  • Any issues with contracts, CPF equivalents or local labor rules?

Would appreciate honest feedback before we commit to one of these global payroll providers
