Small little theory I had about Caine!

I presented the idea to my boyfriend while watching TADC and he said i should post it so here I am!

in the recent episodes Caine seems to be getting more conscious and more humane..weird right? he seems to be presenting more human emotions. a bit like Monika from DDLC, he seems generally sorta depressed in episode 7-8. but those human emotions lead me to think that Caine isn’t an AI. But instead one of the devs that were also stuck there for so long before anyone else, so he became accustomed to thinking he was an AI. And I know episode 8 has probably screwed all our theories over but I made this theory after episode 8. and episode 8 is exactly what based this theory to begin with.

he seems to be grabbing more human emotions and slowly becoming more aware. And the photos he held in his hand in episode 7 of the office throws this point more. But I wouldn’t say this is impacting him positively. More negatively.

at the end of episode 7, at the end the awards show, Caine realizes how nobody really chose him, and then it ends. I feel like the awareness that he may not be an AI is slowly coming to him and he’s grasping those real emotions and feelings. Which is why he’s been so off and a bit moody.
