Unpopular opinion about ALEX

While I agree he seems like a narcissist and liar, it seems like he acts this way because he’s been rejected by most people in his life including (all of) his parents, his soccer teammates leaving him before his draft announcement, and “all the exes that have treated him poorly” as his mother proclaimed.

I think he was born to parents who didn’t want him (grandparents allegedly forbade abortion) who then forced into a seemingly nomadic lifestyle which bred instability and an inability to deeply connect with friends due to constant relocation.

I feel like he can’t get over “losing” his soccer career (despite that seemingly happening almost 10 years ago) because it was probably the only stable thing in his life.

And he probably now LIKES the nomadic lifestyle so he can continue to avoid cultivating deep connections (2 of the exes mentioned were broken up with because they didn’t want to or couldn’t relocate).

I think he acts like a douche because that has proven to be attractive enough to interest people, but he actually feels deeply inadequate and unlovable.
