The Civil and Royal Flag of Wenford: Wenfordan Culture #001
INTRODUCTION
Wenford, unlike many other micronations, has two flags: a civil and royal flag. These both hold immense cultural significance, along with being very important symbols for the people of Wenford. This post, apart of a (hopefully) ongoing series, is aiming to explain Wenfordan Culture.
HISTORY
On September 30th, 2025, the king hosted a flag designing competition in an effort to modernize Wenford's flag(s), along with increasing citizen participation. After many submissions came, it was decided that a tricolor, with a light green on the left, a white in the middle, and a dark blue on the right. In the middle of the white, in a vertical arrangement, 3 dark blue stars - 5 pointed - line from top to bottom would be the civil flag, and a triband with a light green on the top, white in the middle, dark blue on the bottom, and a galloping horse in the white portion of the flag, would be the royal flag.
USES
The civil and royal flags of Wenford are used in many ways, most importantly for showing support, showing governmental buildings, and many other aspects. The Royal flag is traditionally placed in areas where the Monarchy has immense power (such as the parliament, their place of residence, etc, etc) and places where the current monarch owns land. The flag is also used during ceremonies rather than the civil flag to show royal honor. Meanwhile, the Civil Flag is primarily placed in areas of government (the parliament, local government buildings, courts, etc, etc) along with public events and festivals.
USABILITY AND RESTRICTIONS
The major difference between the civil and royal flags of Wenford is how (and who) they can be used. The civil flag is available for use by everyone as long as they are not using it for malicious purposes. However, the royal flag is only available with explicit permission from the current monarch (which can be revoked) and by the royal family itself.
