Battery connector tips

As everyone knows, the battery connector is pretty fragile. I’ve seen so many videos on YouTube showing how to carefully lift the brown tab to release tension on the battery cable. In my experience, if you hold the brown tab in place and just tug on the battery cable (I use tweezers), the battery cable comes right out. And you can also push it back in with tweezers without moving the brown tab. This seems way easier/safer to me. Is there any downside to doing it this way?
