First time watcher of S5- we hate Luke, right?

I've watched seasons 8-10, so I'm going back starting from season 3 for the first time. I've always heard of the infamous Hannah crash out and I'm currently on S5 E4.

Please tell me Luke caught just as much heat for this insane relationship that's not a relationship. Hannah was completely dishonest from the jump, with herself and everyone else, about what she wanted with Luke. However, Luke 100% lead on and manipulated Hannah. He intentionally hid Cierra and any other girls he was hooking up with from Hannah so he could string her along for whatever he wanted.

I'm just wondering what the general consensus was on him at the time this all aired. Hannah definitely got what was coming for her by not being upfront about her feelings, but I need to know if Luke was also seen as the villain he was or got away scott free?

Also, Amanda is totally projecting her relationship issues onto Luke. They're all crazy!!!!!!
