It's really good, but...

I was talking with a friend who is more into the romance than the fantasy romance genre and we were comparing books. The conversation quickly devolved into recommendations that came with caveats. Essentially, "It's really good, but..." or "I loved this one, except..." and this made me realize that every book we told each other about had something we wanted/needed to qualify.

Now I'm curious, what are some books that you recommend to people that you always have to add that "but"?
