Attempted break-in / harassment - England

Comments Moderated

Hi all, hoping for some advice moving forward after an attempted break in.

Yesterday morning a guy who I've been on a few dates with attempted to enter my house. He text me at 8am telling me he was on his way to my house for sex. I assumed he was under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. I explicitly told him not to come but he turned up anyways. He rang the doorbell and I didn't answer, at which point he went to my back door and tried to use his own keys to unlock the door. After this failed he tried to climb a drain pipe up to a window but didn't get very far. I have video of him trying to unlock the door although his face isn't visible. I do not have video of him climbing the pipe as I was freaking out and making sure my house was secure at this point. After a while he went to sit at the bottom of my back garden, at which point I left the house through the front door. I was aware that this person works near my house, so I went to his work place and asked one of his coworkers for help. I didn't fully explain the situation, I just let him know that his coworker was behind my house and clearly in a bad way. When the guy saw his coworker he bolted. He text me a couple hours later, I acted concerned so I could find out where he was, and to hopefully diffuse the situation because, while having a man try to break into your house is scary, I think having an angry man try to break in is worse. I've now blocked him but I'm worried that this is going to happen again. I'm not sure I want to go to the police yet, I'm not even sure they'd do anything at this point. What I'd like to do is set myself up in a way that, should this happen again, I have everything I need to take to the police. I would like to send a message to this person explicitly telling them not to contact me again so that, if it goes to the authorities, he can't claim that he believed his contact was welcome due to our last conversation seeming friendly. This all makes sense to me, but I'm not the best at dealing with situations like this so any input or reassurance would be really helpful.

This is what I've drafted

"I don't want to receive any further contact from you. Do not text me, call me, or put letters through my door. Do not approach me in person. Any further contact will be reported to the police along with the video evidence of you attempting to enter my house without consent"

Thanks in advance :)
