vent about calling out

I called out this week after I woke up with stomach flu symptoms. I get sick a lot but don't have the money to chase a diagnosis, though I try not to call out for "mild" pain as my managers always act like I've sacrificed an innocent lamb every time I call and say Im too sick to work.

When I called out this week, I couldn't seem to actually get my calls to go through to the store. Just kept being told the location I'm calling is not available. I called 8 times on my phone and twice on another phone. Texted a manager that I can't come in and that my calls were not going through but that I would keep trying. They ignore that my calls are failing & remind me that I will be fired if I keep calling out. I asked at one point very directly what I should do to avoid a no call no show, and was told that I needed to call out but really they didnt acknowledge my issue of being completely unable to reach the store.

I checked worksmart today and at least three of my shifts were taken off the schedule. I have a feeling I'm gonna be fired 🤩
