This recommendation is my first that’s a fanmade RPG. Every so often I like to just search around and look for fanmade RPGs based on different properties/franchises, and I’m sure you could guess that there’s a LOT of them for Final Fantasy. But what I like about this game is particular is that it has a good mix of comprehensive player options without trying to be overly simulationist.

Something I found rather intriguing about it was that it works off of the old school columns system of the older FF games. So like a 2x4 grid with a front and back location. So it’s easy to build into your roll since you know what the party composition is going to be like.

I hope it came across, I tried to show as much as I could with the somewhat limited space, but character creation is very interesting. You actually set up your level up experience by choosing 3 jobs/classes from the beginning, at different priorities, and then you gain the abilities at staggered levels based on that priority. So a higher priority class will give you their abilities earlier than the lowest priority.

Another detail I liked was the optional rules included so you could tailor make your game experience to whatever particular game you wanted by adding in its specific subsystem. Want to play a game with Materia, Junctioning, or the Sphere Grid? Well it’s available to you. Some job combinations probably work a lot better if you’re using some of them. Probably shouldn’t try to mix them, though.

I wish I could’ve added more, but then I remembered that this is a \[FREE GAME\](https://mildra.itch.io/finalfantasy-le) you can download yourself anytime you want.
