Starting Lansoprazole
For a bit of background...
I went to the GP due to issues with swallowing solids, I believe mainly driven by anxiety following noticing food was getting slightly stuck in my throat.
The GP checked me over, said he can see I have a hiatal/hiatus hernia and suggested it's likely I've irritated my throat due to acid reflux and to take 30mg Lansoprazole daily.
It is my fourth day and whilst I'm still mainly eating soft foods like mashed potatoes and yogurts etc and drinking protein drinks to keep my calorie intake up, I'm also noticing an improvement to swallowing, I can eat bananas etc. but still definitely have anxiety around eating more solid foods.
Anyway...
I found that on the first and second days, I noticed at night my saliva was quite thick and I could feel it move down to my stomach, not worrying just noticeable and annoying, that's gone now, had no issues last night.
However, today I'm having a lot of pressure in my stomach and also a lot of growling noises... I just wanted to know if this is normal due to the reduced acid? And what should I expect over the coming days?
