Chances of B1/B2 approval for parents to visit newborn (I’m a GC holder, husband is USC)

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some insight or similar experiences.

I’m a green card holder, and my husband is a U.S. citizen. I’m currently pregnant and due in July. We’d really love for my parents to visit the U.S. for a short time to see the baby and also do some sightseeing.

A bit of background about my parents:

•	They live in India

•	They run their own business

•	All of my siblings live in India

•	They have strong ties back home and no intention to immigrate

•	They would be visiting temporarily and returning after a short stay

We’re planning to apply for a B1/B2 visitor visa for them.

I understand that having a child in the U.S. can sometimes raise red flags, so I’m wondering:

•	What are the realistic chances of approval in a situation like this?

•	Does the fact that I’m a GC holder (not a citizen) make a difference?

•	Would it help or hurt to mention the pregnancy/newborn as part of the reason for travel?

•	Any tips on what to emphasize (business ties, return plans, etc.)?

If anyone has gone through something similar or has insight into how consulates usually view this, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
