The Y and R my ideas of Storylines

The Young and Restless 2026: Ideas of Storylines

Hello everyone, What are your expectations for the soap opera in 2026? What are your plot ideas?

I would like to become a screenwriter or even showrunner on the show. I don't have a screenwriting degree and I live in France, but for me, imagination can overcome a lack of formal qualifications.

For my part, we need to start righting an injustice: the character of Traci, who is a punching bag.

Traci has always suffered greatly on the show, even though she's a character with a heart of gold. The writers even killed off her only daughter. So it's time to set things right! Colleen will be resurrected; she will have lost her memory and been kidnapped by her ex, Adrian Korbel, who has gone mad. Victor's real heart donor would be a homeless man, killed by Adrian Korbel.

1. Colleen is resurrected

The sequence of events:

• In 2009, following her accident in the lake caused by Patty Williams, Colleen fell into a deep coma.

• It was at this time that Adrian Korbel bribed doctors to declare Colleen brain dead. Adrian had returned to Genoa City some time ago without the Abbotts or Colleen knowing. He was obsessed with Colleen, still in love with her.

• When the story of Colleen's heart transplant for Victor Newman came out, Adrian looked for a plan B. In the university's medical archives, he discovered people who were a match for Victor.

• He chose to kill a homeless man and paid the doctors to harvest his heart and pass Colleen off as the donor. The homeless man is therefore Victor's real donor.

• Adrian Korbel left for a state far from Wisconsin with Colleen still in a coma.

• A few days later, Colleen woke up from her coma but had completely lost her memory, so Adrian gave her a false name: Megan Anderson.

• Colleen/Megan gradually learned to live again, but has never regained her memory in the 16 years since.

• Adrian was able to manipulate her, and she fell in love with him, and they got married. Adrian also changed his identity and now calls himself Bryan Lester. Adrian/Bryan and Colleen/Megan have two children.

• Adrian/Bryan is oppressive towards Colleen and treats her badly, but Colleen/Megan lets herself be manipulated and is even afraid of Adrian/Bryan.

• Colleen/Megan has a best friend named Shannon Brewster. But neither of them knows anything about Wisconsin. One day, while Adrian/Bryan was at work, Colleen and Shannon were watching television and stumbled upon a program about Genoa City. Colleen/Megan had a flashback; she felt deep down that Genoa City had been a part of her life and that she knew the city. She felt it in her gut. She told Shannon about it. Shannon advised her to go there on a trip or wait a while, but not to tell Bryan/Adrian.

Colleen/Megan finally decided to go to Genoa City with her two children and Shannon without telling Adrian/Bryan. They took a quick flight while he was at work.

They arrived in the city later and stayed in a small hotel.

They ran into Jack, who was shaken when he saw Colleen/Megan.

She had more flashbacks of her past life and investigated, trying to discover places in the city.

Jack spoke to Traci. He discovered a woman who resembled Colleen. Traci cries in her brother's arms; she was so scared.

• Jack investigates.

• Adrian finally discovers that Colleen/Megan has gone to Genoa City with Shannon. He is furious and heads to Genoa City determined to bring her back.

• Jack's private investigator finally discovers that no one had heard of Megan Anderson Brewster before 2009.

• Jack begins to wonder if Megan might actually be Colleen.

• Colleen meets Traci, and Traci tells her about Colleen's life and history. She shows her a photo of Colleen with her and Brad. At that moment, Colleen/Megan has a flashback and talks about an accident at the lake and Patty Williams. Traci is devastated.

• They decide to get DNA tests done at three labs. Traci cries in Jack's arms. She is so afraid the results will be negative and that she will lose Colleen a second time.

• The day of the DNA results arrived. Traci was at the Abbott residence with Jack, Ashley, Abby, and Billy. Traci asked Jack to open the envelopes because she didn't have the strength. Jack read them and was devastated. Traci mistakenly believed the results were negative and that Megan wasn't Colleen. She cried and was heartbroken. But Jack interrupted her, tears in his eyes, and laughed. Megan was Colleen! Traci was overjoyed, and Ashley, Billy, and Abby were moved and hugged her.

• Meanwhile, Megan received and read the test results on her own with Shannon. She was devastated to realize she was Colleen Carlton. She cried, and they decided to go see the Abbotts. Shannon promised to babysit in the meantime. Colleen arrives at the Abbotts' house, overwhelmed by the sight. She and Traci hug and cry together. Colleen doesn't remember what happened, but she wants to regain her memory and asks her mother for help. Jack wonders who Victor's real heart donor is.

While Colleen is at the Abbotts', Adrian arrives at the hotel room door and threatens Shannon with a gun. She and the children must come with him.

3. The return of the Brooks.

I vote for the return of the Brooks. Lorie buys back the Genoa Chronicles and appoints her two fictional nephews. One is Christabel's son, Stuart Brooks Jr., and the other is Peggy's son, Brendan. Christabel's daughter, Jennifer, born in the soap opera and therefore Stuart Jr.'s half-sister, is introduced. Jennifer is a police officer and arrives with her 16-year-old daughter, Brittany.

Stuart Brooks Jr. and Brendan are sworn enemies, like John Ross and Christopher in Dallas. Their rivalry will become the new major focus of the soap opera, after the rivalry between the Brooks and Foster families, and then between Jack and Victor.

Brendan, a kind of mini J.R. Ewing, wants to make Victor pay. Maxwell Hollister (who appeared in The Y and R in 2002, played by Sam Behrens, aka Gregory Richards in Sunset Beach) is very close to him. And Brendan blames Victor for Maxwell and Lorie's divorce.

Theo Vanderway also returns and wants to bring peace between Brendan and his cousins, Stuart Jr. Jennifer Brooks Foster, Stuart Jr.'s half-sister, is also there, and she's a police officer. She has a 16-year-old daughter, Brittany.

Stuart Jr. might also start searching for his biological father. Could he be Jack Abbott? Could Jack Abbott have had a one-night stand with Christabel during a business trip to New York?

4. Adam's future:

Adam could become a father again.

A young woman arrives in Genoa, aged 20.

Skye Lockaert, Adam's ex-wife, who died in 2010, had hidden her pregnancy and had a daughter. She entrusted the child to a couple she believed to be trustworthy and left behind an assassination attempt against Adam.

The daughter has now arrived in Genoa, determined to get revenge on Adam. But ultimately, she will get to know her father.

Adam is the new mayor of Genoa City. Once again rejected by the Newmans after defending Jack and Jabot against the AI software Victor stole from Cane, Adam starts his own company, the Victor Newman Jr. Company, seeking to profit from his father's name and his own birth name. The company is a success.

New municipal elections are called following the resignation of the Genoa City Council. Adam decides to run for mayor. He faces a strong-willed Genoa woman, Victoria, but manages to win.

5. Chloe: An illness followed by a very unlikely love.

Chloe suffers a stroke after taking a drug that is still in the trial phase and therefore has serious side effects. In her coma, she sees Delia as an adult. She recovers after several weeks. Or does it seem that way?

For example, she starts watching Adam work out and admires him shirtless afterward. Then:

1. Adam decides to take a few weeks of vacation at his farm in Kansas.

2. Chloe goes with him to look after him. Adam notices her, and Chloe asks him to stay away from Sally. 3) A violent storm breaks out, and Chloe is forced to stay with Adam at the farm. She notices how caring he is with the horses and how well he looks after them.

3. One evening, she gives in and kisses him, and they spend the night together.

4. Chloe slaps Adam: "How could he make love to the mother of the child he killed?"

5. She flies to Genoa. She's still thinking about Adam.

6. Adam returns to Kansas after 15 days.

7. Chloe visits Adam and breaks down again. They make love once more.

8. Chloe realizes she's falling in love with Adam. She has a dream about Delia giving her blessing; her death was an accident.

Chloe makes her relationship with Adam official, and they fall in love. Victor, Billy, and Kevin are furious. Kevin, beside himself with rage, devises a plan to kill Adam. Chloe will marry Adam and become Chloe Newman.

7. Ashland Locke Avenged?

A member of Victor Newman's security detail is corrupt. The man introduces himself as Simon Roan, an entrepreneur and disciple of Ashland Locke. The guard reveals that it was Nick who killed Ashland and that Victor asked him to stage the murder as a car accident. Simon swears revenge. He finds Tara Locke and gets her out of trouble, asking her to seduce Nick Newman. In exchange, he will allow her to find Harrison and perhaps Kyle, whom she is still in love with.

8. The great revenge against Victor Newman has finally arrived.

Owen Scott, Michael Scott's son, arrives in Genoa City. In the 1980s, Victor Newman had his father, Michael, imprisoned for infidelity with Julia, Victor's wife at the time. Owen Scott wants to destroy Victor and contacts Brendan Brooks to publish an article in his newspaper. He is put in touch with Maxwell Hollister, but proof is needed first. They create a virus similar to Project Paragon at the same time. Owen has an affair with Sally and also something with Victoria. He manages to get hired at Newman Enterprises and begins drugging Victor. During a major argument, Owen makes Victor confess everything. Owen secretly had a recorder in his pocket and recorded Victor's confession about Michael Scott's fate. He sent the recording to numerous national and local media outlets. The case was closed, and that day, the residents of Genoa City were stunned. A few hours later, Project Paragon took the companies comprising Newman Enterprises public. Jack acquired the beauty of nature for a pittance and merged it with Jabot. Victor Newman was ruined and driven from the ranch. Faced with his heinous actions, Nikki and Victoria disowned him. Victor could only rely on Adam. The ranch was vandalized by protesters, and the tower burned down.

Brad Eliot, the first character in The Y and R in 1973, returns to Genoa and travels with Owen as his passenger. A scene will open like the beginning of the series in 1973. There will be a friendship and even a father/son bond between the two of them.

Lucy will pull through, and they will continue spending time together, going to the beauty salon and getting tans together, for example. Lucy will eventually ask Faith for a massage, and a sexual tension will build between them. Lucy will end up kissing Faith; she's in love with her. Faith, recognizing her feelings, decides to return to Genoa City and study at a college closer to home. She leaves her old university and tells Dwight Gillingham, her 21-year-old roommate, whom she considers her best friend. Dwight pretends to be happy for her, but in reality, he is furious, angry, and jealous because he is secretly in love with Faith. Faith finds Lucy and confesses her feelings, and they kiss and become a couple. Later, they will make love for the first time; it will be Lucy's first time. Some time later, Dwight moves to Genoa City, telling her he wants to find her again; he misses his best friend. He pretends this and gets close to people close to Faith, but in reality, he's plotting to get rid of Lucy and be with Faith. Midway through the season, Faith realizes she doesn't love Dwight and doesn't want to see him anymore; he disgusts her. Seeking revenge, Dwight pretends to send Faith and Lucy coupons for a tanning session at a salon. The two girls sneak into the two booths at the same time and get their tans. Dwight takes advantage of the situation and knocks out the manager, then sets the salon on fire after trapping the girls inside. They are narrowly saved by other characters. Dwight is killed at the end of the storyline after being shot and falling into an incinerator. Beforehand, Faith and Lucy will interview people from Faith and Dwight's old college and will meet Megan Jones, Dwight's ex from middle school, whom he beat up back then.

10. Other:

Why not a serial killer storyline in the show? General Hospital had several, for example. Characters like Nate, Holden, Elena, Mariah, and Audra could be killed.

• A new African American family could arrive. Peter, the 48-year-old father, works at the police station or is a doctor. Their son hates the police and is often in conflict with his father. - Return of classic songs from the 80s and 90s (for example: Best of All, check it out on YouTube for love songs).

• I hate Devon, so I wouldn't mind if he left, but he wouldn't be killed.

• Couple ideas: Adam-Chloe with a possible love triangle involving Colleen, Sally-Owen Scott or Owen-Abby, Faith-Lucy, Nick-Tara, Nikki-Maxwell Hollister. Stuart Brooks Jr-Abby or Sally or Colleen.

• After the fall of his empire, Victor might try to seduce Diane to get revenge on Jack. Victor still has a few million in an offshore account. Could Jack fall back into Phyllis's arms?

• Love triangle: Chance-Summer Abbott-Jessica Jones.

• Possible connection with Lisa Mansfield, Brad's first wife, in the Colleen storyline. In 2009, Lisa supposedly met Adrian and talked with him. She may have wanted to take revenge on Brad posthumously. Perhaps she had a child with him during their first marriage or in 1989 when she held him prisoner in a cage.
