Experience with Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics (MND)
I was wondering if anyone could share a bit about their experience with the Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics (or UBC grad programs in general). I'm about to finish an accredited undergraduate dietetics degree in the US and am hoping to attend an accredited masters program in Canada to become an RD there. I'm also considering year-long programs like U of Guelph's MAN and TMU's MHSc in Nutrition Communication that are cheaper, as well as U of Toronto for its unique emphasis/collaborative specialization programs, but I don't know if the cost is worth it.
I much prefer Vancouver to Toronto as a location to get my first job and settle down. I also feel that the UBC program is more interesting and provides more opportunities to link nutrition with social justice, which is a passion of mine. However, I'm an international student, so the program would be quite expensive. Logistically, the Toronto-area schools are much closer and (barring U of T) cheaper, but I've always wanted to live in BC, and it seems UBC has an amazing curriculum for this degree.
Wherever I end up going, I plan to get a job and move there long-term, so I want to know more about each program and anything else about the school/location in general before making a decision. Thanks!
