Question for ER nurses...

That has experienced mass casualty at work.

I just started watching The Pitt and I am at the episode where they had a mass casualty from a shooting incident. If that ever happens, what do you do with the patients waiting for hours in triage? Assuming you would have to use all of the bedspace in emerg? How about any other incoming patients needing attention?

Lol sorry I know this is just a show but I know for a fact that this happens too. And I never worked in ER (only medsurg and ICU) so idk how you guys would handle this situation.
