Description:

HexaGalaxy is a real-time multiplayer space strategy game rendered with PixiJS on a hexagonal grid. You command a single ship across a persistent galaxy that runs 24/7 — colonize planets, harvest resources (Quantium & Fuel), upgrade your weapons and defenses, and fight or ally with other players. Everything happens live thanks to WebSocket (Socket.io): you see ships moving, battles unfolding, and planets changing hands in real time. AI-controlled bots keep the universe active even when fewer players are online. The map features a parallax animated starfield, smooth ship movement, and efficient rendering for large hex grids (up to 2000×2000 tiles).

Core mechanics:

\- Real-time ship movement on a hexagonal map (A\* pathfinding, 6-direction navigation)

\- Planet colonization & resource management (Quantium/Fuel production while offline)

\- Combat system with sigmoid-based win probability — stats matter, but upsets happen

\- Diplomacy: declare war, negotiate peace, or stay neutral with any player

\- Ship upgrades: weapons, shields, engines, cargo

\- Persistent universe with AI bots that colonize, fight, and respond to diplomacy

Involvement: Solo developer — game design, frontend (vanilla JS + PixiJS), backend (PHP/MySQL), real-time server (Node.js/Socket.io). Looking for player feedback on gameplay balance, UX, and overall feel. Happy to answer any technical questions too!
