Literally everything that happens is because of Waxman.

Waxman is easily the most important character in the entire show, no question about it. Who was the main guy in charge of perfecting upload once Holstrom died? Pope, but he's just the dumbass in charge, the head scientist was Waxman. Who uploaded David? Waxman. Who created the tracker, and later turned it into safeSurf? Waxman. Caspian gave safeSurf the motivation to become gods, but they would never exist without Waxman. Without Waxman, Maddie would never have uploaded and Caspian would've just stayed dead. Sure, Maddie created billions of worlds, but Waxman is the one who created the gods that created the world's containing the Maddies who created those worlds. Waxman (the one from the original universe) is genuinely the one singular god above all the others that he unintentionally created, he just doesn't know that.
