Thrillers with reliable narrators?

What shoud I read next?

I know the trend right now is psychological thrillers with untrustworthy narrators who are losing their grip on reality, etc. I’m looking for something a little different and wondered if anyone had suggestions for books with competent narrators, books that are well-plotted with stories that stand on their own and don’t need trendy gimmicks to function. I’m not against plot twists but they need to make sense within the story. One I read recently as an example is The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. Hoping for something more contemporary than that though. Thanks in advance!
