Lidless owners, have you had any betta escapes?

I just got a rimless 5.5 gallon and id love to have it lidless. It did come with a lid that ill definitely use if necessary! I just want to know if any lidless owners that provided proper care have actually had their betta escape? If not, do you take any precautions?
