I would rather die while defending our most vulnerable neighbors during the next civil war than vote for Gavin Newsom in 2028

Discussion

It is impossible to effectively combat the demon before us while still carrying around a devil on our backs

Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris — these establishment Democratic Party neoliberal presidential candidates — coupled with at least the last two decades of policy and voting record — has done little more than further alienate millions of voters and catalyze the growth of American fascism. Yes, I am entirely revolted by Newsom at least as much as Trump.

Obama was deeply disappointing. I greatly disliked Hillary, then hated Biden more than her, and ultimately dispised Harris more than Biden. I am in my mid 30's, my entire life has been spent with the socioeconomic fangs of neoliberal class warfare sucking at my neck while watching the party happy to act as the toxic, gaslighting, and manipulative human resources department for sociopathic corporations and the rich & powerful. It has become clear to see how at the end of the day, the most sacred thing to the party establishment is capital and influence, not people.

The way much of the party has come to carry and conduct itself has demonstrated its consistent silent contempt for everyday citizens and worker needs. This is a blatant betrayal of both lefist and liberal ideology. Not only has the political game of good-cop-bad-cop played hand in hand with the Republican Party grown obscenely obvious, this dead horse is already in rapid decay.

Ruthless, unapologetic, and joyously progressive politics is the only viable path forward for the left. Period.

Running on a campaign of not just repealing the trump wealthy/corporate tax cuts, but also increasing their share of the federal budget is a moral litmus test. Running on a campaign of equal rights for trans people is a moral litmus test. Ending all support for genocide and objectively evil governments is a moral litmus test. Cutting out the rent-seeking middlemen from the healthcare industry is a moral litmus test. Overruling Citizens United is a moral litmus test. Dissolving ICE and all reasonable immigration enforcement back into our existing 20th century agencies, while permanently banning all existing ICE agents from law enforcement is, you guessed it, a moral litmus test. These aren't just the non-negotiable bare bottom of the barrel, but also akin to scouring away a top layer of vital material with acid.

I would feel more politically intimidated by a candy necklace wrapped around shovel handle than the congressional leadership the left has today. Further description of how I not just perceive, but also observe the party establishment includes: oblivious, tone deaf, condescending, self-righteous, spineless, controlled opposition, complicit, soulless, valueless, incompetent, naïve, nearsighted, corrupt, morally bankrupt, inept, aimless. . .

I am not being hyperbolic. I literally hold more faith for my fellow citizen's of conscience in a hypothetical civil war to ultimately ensure a better union than I do party establishment to step over the bar laying on the floor in serving those who elect them. What is the primary difference I see today between the Republican Party and the Democratic Party? The dem establishment is mostly made up of marginally smarter sociopaths with slightly more self-control and social intelligence with which to manipulate the public.

Can I please ask y'all a favor? Please share this or your own perspective on the matter over in main party subreddit and beyond. I was banned from that likely bought, paid-for, and party-managed subreddit back in November 2024 for pointing out running as silver tongue diet republicans is not a winning strategy.

We cannot let them gaslight us and push this topic into a quiet corner. Our democracy depends on us being loud, angry, and uncooperative in this regard.
