It's interesting how no one actually cares whether one is on social media/scrolling or not, and that it's still just an internet measuring contest... on the internet.
"EVERYONE is quitting the internet in 2026", video, with the host of it explaining why these massive companies are experiencing mass exoduses, showing footage (real or not) of people entering book shops, coffee shops, malls, without a single smartphone in sight. Shots of students using typewriters and peering into books for research, a smartphone being smashed with a hammer, crying company executives, the works.
The comments below are like an arena, one user proclaiming that they deleted Facebook a decade ago, their likes sitting at 15,000 with a myriad of replies. Another user proclaims that they removed home internet in 1992 when Prodigy stopped serving his area and is only on YouTube because his workplace recently gave out Chromebooks to their employees, like count sitting at 35,000 replies calling him a chad and the real goat.
But offline no one cares if you're living like a Neanderthal, off in the mountains of some remote corner of the world and you haven't held a piece of modern technology since the 8-track was considered modern.
Even something like this becomes a... contest.
Why?
