I am looking to publish a book in the nearby future

Hello I am a poet and I’m looking to publish a collection of my poems soon. Right now I am between self publishing or working through a publishing company. I would prefer if there is any way I can get 40% of the profit made off my book but I know publishers take a lot of it. Does anyone have any recommendations about specific publishers who will only take 60-80% of the profit of books they publish? thanks so much.
