Sowing seed in spring instead of fall

Hi I am seeking to plant some wildflowers and grass seed mix on a slope on my property in sw oh. I was thinking of buying and sowing as soon as possible while all of the other plants here are still dormant.

I know the best general advice is to plant in the fall but since that is past can I plant now and some seeds may not grminate until next year but others will grow or should I just hold off and wait till the fall to do anything.
