I was looking for the simplest way to track my progress in the gym. So naturally, I downloaded about 10 different apps, one of which was Hevy. But like the others, Hevy didn't work for me and so I built Overlifter.

Overlifter and Hevy are both workout tracking apps. They are used during a workout to track your progress. But where do they differ?

With Overlifter, I wanted to make workout entry dead simple. In Hevy, I wants me to track all of my sets and weight, which can get tedious throughout my workout. In Overlifter, I just track my best or main set, what I call the “overset”, making tracking much easier.

Also in Overlifter, I wanted to make tracking progress with friends fun! Overlifter allows you to build a Crew to gain points with your friends throughout the week. You can see your Crew’s progress just like the image above, that is my progress.

Lastly, with Overlifter I wanted to make progress dead simple to monitor! Overlifter tells me how much I improved compared to my last workout using one number, the 'Overscore'. Hevy relies on volume and PRs, which don't really tell me if I am progressively overloading consistently.

Overlifter and Hevy are great apps with the same goal, tracking progress in the gym. But if you want a simple, fun option to track your gains, that’s why I built Overlifter.
