What happens to people’s gold stored in Sudan banks?

QUESTION | كدي سؤال

hey guys i have a question about the situation with banks in Sudan specifically the ones that are (or used to be) owned by Jordan.

Some people had their gold and other valuables stored in those banks before the conflict. I heard that everything in banks usually has insurance, but that insurance only applies if the bank officially declares the items stolen or lost.

Apparently, the bank hasn’t made that declaration yet. Does anyone know how this works in cases like this especially when the bank is owned by another country (Jordan) but the branch is in Sudan?

Would the main bank in Jordan be legally responsible for returning people’s valuables? And if so, how would someone even start a claim through the Jordanian headquarters, the Sudanese authorities, or through insurance?

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s dealt with something similar or knows about international banking and insurance in conflict zones.
