Dahkla in April - too crowded? Open to suggestions.

Looking for a last minute trip for me and my wife to go kiting for a week in mid-April. Coming from Boston. Have seen mixed reviews about Dahkla. Does anyone have any first hand experience kiting there in April? The setup looks ideal but have read April is a terribly busy month there and its too crowded. Also open to other suggestions. Willing to fly places it takes less than 1 day total travel. Thanks!
