Oh, Sybil

General Discussion (May Contain Spoilers Throughout Franchise)

My poor lamb. I did not expect her death to be so brutal. Usually in media I consumed when women die in childbirth it is just them falling unconscious or slowly withering away until they stop breathing, but Sybil died in agony. It for horrific. Her actress did an amazing job, and so did Cora's, I literally teared up.
And then the scene with Granny walking in, sobbing quietly for her youngest granddaughter... the small moment of kinship with Carson, her helplessness, I truly believe poor Lady wished she was dead so she didn't have to witness this. Such a loss at any age is horrible but I always have a soft spot for old people when they witness someone die that should have outlived them. She just looked so small and frail :(

The reactions downstairs were also so sad, it was so sweet how Anna comforted Thomas. And the moment between Mary and Edith... I argued with someone a week (?) or so ago about it before I watched this and they claimed Mary was callous, but I really don't think that's the case. They hugged and loved each other and Mary I believe really did speak the truth without any malice.
