Wharf at night song

I don't remember much, the song is sung by a woman and is mellow and kind of dreamy. It's about walking through a port-side town at night - maybe down by the docks. I think there's lyrics about the drunks going home and lights in the windows. The only word I can remember with certainty is 'wharf' - I know it's not much to go on but if anyone has any idea I'd really appreciate it this is haunting my mind.
