Corsair trying to ignore local consumer laws
TL;DR: UPS somehow "delivered" Corsair package to apartment "mailbox" (I was away), nothing there despite tracking, no picture. Corsair offers reshipment but says "if UPS scans delivered again, tough luck it is your responsibility now." Citing German law seems to go nowhere, Is this normal?
Full story:
I ordered from Corsair.de, but UPS tracking showed "left in mailbox" while I was traveling and there was also no picture for proof of delivery.
I checked the lobby mailbox and asked all neighbours, but found nothing, I posted a note on the building board and got no response, so I contacted Corsair in the meantime to see if they could get in touch with UPS (I'd tried directly but was sent away as I wasn't the sender).
Corsair offered "reship OR refund." I chose reship since I wanted the item and can't get this keyboard elsewhere right now but also tried to give a stipulation if it was to go missing again they wouldn't refund or reship and I would be essentially left out to dry
I explained under local German law seller liable until physical possession and also on top of this, I never gave my permission to UPS to drop the parcel off anywhere outside of my possession, regardless of the explanation that this not not how it works here, they are insistent that these 'terms' I have to agree with.
Has anyone else had similar issue with corsair, I find it quite unacceptable and also very bold of them to try and skirt around local laws like this.
