Capita and requesting a copy of assessment call. They say it has changed and refused to share the recording.

Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

My apologies for a similar post but it might be warranted given new details.

I asked here how to go about getting a copy of the recording that I asked to be made of my assessment. I rang a week prior to request it be recorded (and I recorded that phone call) and also at the start of the assessment and was told it was being recorded.

So, I rang the DWP PiP line to request the recording and was forwarded to CAPITA PiP line as expected (I didn't have their number), with the DWP person stating I had to ask CAPITA as well as a forum member here.

Having spoken to CAPITA, they have just told me they don't have a copy of the recording and that it changed in September and where I must now request it from the DWP, which stands in contradiction to what the DWP PiP person told me, before forwarding me to the CAPITA phone line.

The CAPITA person told me I should have asked at the end of the assessment and where the assessor should have asked for my email address, so I could download it. I did ask the assessor at the end but they did not request my email and I thought it would be mailed out like last time. The simply gave an affirmative 'MmmmHuhhh' and went into the end script.

I have just been told by CAPITA person that is the only way they can provide the recording now and he tried to blame me for not giving my email address to the assessor and implying I didn't ask for a copy, when I did. I explained to him once I asked the assessor for it, the onus is on them to ask me for my email. This just does not seem right so I thought I'd ask you all for your input and advice and whether this 'change' is a known one?
