How long do you normally wait before asking a buyer if theyre gonna pick up their parcel from the collection place? (Or if you just leave it and see what happens)

Hiya, im in no rush to get the money since ive only sold the item for a couple of quid and definitely dont wanna be pushy and annoy them because I know everyone hates the "hey ur parcel is ready to collect". But genuinely just out of curiosity do you guys wait until a couple days before the deadline to check if everythings okay? The derlivery service was royal mail if that helps
