Benefits beyond what I imagined

Hello all,

I started my walking journey on Jan. 4th with the goal of losing 16 pounds by May 28th and getting my cholesterol down. Since then, I have lost 5 pounds but no longer care about the weight goal.

My pace has gone down from 19:24 to the 16:40s. My resting heart rate from 88 to 74. My mental health has improved quite a bit. Overall, I just feel healthier.

In January, I thought about giving up a few times. Then I started reading this reddit. I read many posts about how some of you have benefited from your own walking journeys and I kept going. To everyone that thinks no one wants to hear your story, you are wrong, and I am proof.

It is no longer about weigh management for me, it is about being happier and healthier. To anyone just starting out, keep pushing. Once you make it to 45 days, you will begin to see that you have made a great choice for yourself!
