My mom has been thinking about selling the house that I grew up in.

I've been reading a couple of posts about this. Overall, it all started when my neighbor's son asked my mom when she was planning on selling the house. Now, he had done this same stunt a couple of years ago. He would just constantly ask her, even when she wasn't thinking about. So now he has done it again, putting the idea back into my mom's mind.

My mom had never really thought about selling the house before. Logistically, it would make sense for her as she's the only one living there and is taking care of a lot of the chores.

I got super emotional over the phone as there has been so many things that have changed in my life, that I just wanted one thing to be consistent. My one aunt that I was close with, when she died, her house was gone and sold to her ex-husband and his gf. My other aunt's house, my grandmother's house, was sold when my aunt lost a leg. My move to another state. I just wanted one thing to remain the same. And I know it's selfish for me to even tell her to not sell.

I just hate that my neighbor's son keeps up like this and would just want my mom to put the house on the market THAT DAY. It just pisses me off.

I will say, I got super emotional and told my mom that if she did sell the house to them, I wouldn't talk to her anymore. I was so angry, sad, and shocked. It was not right for me to say that.

I know at the end of the day, it's not my decision, it's hers.

I just want to know if you've been in my situation, how did you handle this news? What did you do to help cope?
