Purifier tips?

I used the adjudicator as my main for a while (leveled to 23) and liked it a lot. It was my first real main weapon and I started using it when I switched from mostly diving squids to mostly diving bots. Then for a while I used the exploding crossbow, it was my main on cyberstan and part of my medieval knight loadout for a bit.

Once I unlocked the scorcher it felt like a nice middle ground between the crossbow and adjudicator. The scorcher was the first weapon I got to max level. I saw a lot online about people calling the purifier a “better scorcher” so I got polar patriots for it and kind of hated it?? It has this weird "lag" to it since it fires when I release the button instead of on a tap. And something I find happening a lot is that I’ll finish clearing a group of enemies but I’ll have a shot charged and there’s no way to uncharge it without firing it so I end up wasting a lot of ammo shooting at nothing because I misjudge how many shots I'll need.

Anyway, this weapon still seems like it could be really strong and fun to use. It makes me feel like Samus with the charge attack. Does anyone have any tips to use it better?
