How do you regulate pacing in a story?

Hello, I’m new to writing and am currently working on the first draft of a book, the only problem is that everyone is saying it starts off too fast. Is there anyone who can help me on how to slow down the pacing a little? I feel like I’ve tried everything but they keep saying it’s too fast.
