Going through the donor process.
I’m scheduled to fly up to the hospital in one week to meet with the surgeon, social worker, nurse, and the rest of the team in person. I’ve gone through all of the testing and did the GFR test and everything has come back a match for the person I’m looking to donate to. They will be doing the CT scan during my visit and I’m being told this is the final step before they would schedule surgery of if I am the chosen person.
My question is: from your past experience for those that went through the entire process, is it safe to assume the probability of being chosen to be the donor is high at this point? My nurse hasn’t specifically said the words, but there have been numerous comments making it sound as though this is the case.
