How To Get Into the Liturgical Calendar

I've been a part of multiple churches, and none of them followed the liturgical calendar outside of Christmas/Easter and Pentecost (being Pentecostal, they cared about that one lol). I think there is beauty in our culture, beauty in our history. I think there's a connection to the whole body by following the liturgical calendar and having a sense of unity. There's beauty in going anywhere, and knowing what season we're in together globally.

All that to say, how does someone get started with the liturgical calendar? I don't have a church/leadership to lean on for this subject. I've used ChatGPT a bit, but at times I'm not entirely sure with what it's given me. I've looked at how the Catholics and Orthodox celebrate and organize their calendars, and I'm aware there are protestant versions too. As a protestant, I don't mind celebrating these traditions across denomination lines. I also don't know if it's appropriate to piece together my own liturgical tradition from multiple traditions. We'll celebrate them as a family, not as a church.

Should I call up local Catholic, Orthodox, Presbyterian/Lutheran/Methodists churches and get connected with someone in their leadership who would disciple in this area? Are there books or resources to help someone?

For example, we're in the season of Lent. That's awesome. That's all I know. And to me, that's sad. I want to join the celebration. I want to join the repentance. I want to join in the communal worship or Christ through our traditions.
