Starting Web3 from scratch (Python/JS/Rust). Need feedback on a 12‑month plan

Hey, I’m Denis. I’m getting into Web3 and I’m trying to be honest with myself: I’m giving it one year of consistent work. Either I’ll have real skills + projects, or I’ll at least know exactly why it didn’t work.

My current stack is Python / JavaScript / Rust. Right now I’m trying to figure out the “least dumb” path so I don’t bounce between tech forever.

What I’m struggling with:

•How would you combine these in a practical way for Web3? (JS for frontend, Rust for contracts, Python for backend/scripts/data?)

•What are 2–3 small-but-real projects you’d build first to prove you can ship (not just tutorials)?

•If you had to pick one chain/ecosystem to focus on early when learning Rust, where would you go and why?

I’m not looking for hype, just a plan that makes sense and some reality checks. If you tell me what info you need (time per week, experience, goals), I’ll add it.
