I wore a saree to my friend’s wedding and stopped by a small kirana store on the way to pick up a few things. I was already dressed and ready. The lady at the counter looked at me, smiled warmly, and said, “Chala bagunnav akka.” I don’t know why, but that one compliment stayed with me. I instantly started blushing. And for the first time in a while, I felt truly seen. It was such a soft, happy feeling… like butterflies in my stomach. Even after coming back home, even while lying in bed, I was still smiling to myself. That tiny moment at a random store, that simple compliment it spread so much bliss through my entire day.
