How to calm puppy down during witching hour

Has anyone got any recommendations for how to help my 4 month old vizsla puppy to calm down, especially during his witching hour?

He will often snarl and bark at us and try to bite very hard (not just teething nibbles, like proper attack mode), so it’s really hard to just give him attention/play with him. If we put him in his crate he will bark constantly and not settle. Even if i take him outside for a walk or to go to the toilet that doesn’t make much difference afterwards.

What on earth do i do to help get through this tricky puppy period?
