Thinking of getting a pair of ferrets, have a ton of questions.

Having ferrets has been my dream since a kid. Now that im grown and have stable income, im looking into it. :) Like most i have a bunch of questions to be sure im 100% ready and fit to own them little goblins.

Do they have issues with carpet? Like just regular room carpet

Should i start with one then get two in later time?

Do they work well with cats? Ive been seeing very mixed results. Mostly positive though. I have two cats that dont usually stay in my room that are old and chill. You could treat them like a stuffed animal and the would come back for more. If it would be a issue i would either not get any or not let them around at all.

Do they need special water? Like is just tap water okay or bottled?

Im in the medical field and work long but not too long shifts. 7-5 usually. Would this be an issue? If not, would they be free roam in the room or stay in large cage for that time im not home.

If i have plastic things such as claw clips, lotion, perfume bottles, makeup things, will that be an issue with them or is it more of soft things they chew on.

Is there any severe smell/personality difference between a girl and a boy? Not an issue just curious

-along with that, are boys and girls good together or is it better to have 2 girls/2 boys.

Let me know !!! Like i said would never allow an animal into my home that would be unhappy/unsafe. I would like to be 100% prepared and for them to be 100% happy in my home ☺️.
