Diving Into the hobby!

for context after months of contemplating and seeing the jets being doodoo this year i decided to join the world of Sports Cards and what better sport than Hockey. So yesterday i went to my hobby shop and i asked the guy what to get and the shop along with the clerks were more into the comics and MTG side but he recommend me the Upper Deck Series One 25-26 and the 24-25 Credentials. Overall i can see why people can love and or hate this hobby. I am not doing this to get money or flip the cards i just want to collect and enjoy the sport. Any Tips and Recommendations on what to do next and what to grab would be appreciated.
