Minnesotans, do we like SR Harris? Or other affordable quilt shops?
Hello to any other Minnesotans out there! I’ve been coasting on my stash and precuts since the last Joann’s closed, but the time has come to buy some yardage, and I am a stickler about doing in person.
I’ve heard a lot of praise for SR Harris for apparel fabric, but how is it for quilting? Is the stock consistent, is it affordable? And, are there other affordable quilt shops in the metro that you would recommend? I live in Minneapolis and usually stay west of highway 52, but I’ll venture out!
I haven’t gone exploring myself because my one off visits to quilt shops have given me the impression that they all only carry fabrics that cost $20+ per yard. Joann’s prices are a big reason I was able to get into this hobby so young (I’m a 28 year old newlywed lol), and I fear I will be priced out if I can’t find a reliably inexpensive shop :,)
