My wife and I agree - to leave our son intact

Questions

Hey folks. I'm a first generation American from a Poland family (I'm intact like most guys in Poland/Europe). Ever since I was a kid growing in NYC in the 90s/early 2000s I thought I was an outsider because I knew most boys my age were cut - and I know I was overthinking this but I thought I was a real outsider.

My wife is Jewish-American (men who are Jewish are traditionally cut) and I remember when we first got intimate she saw that I was uncut and she was surprised because she never saw an uncut guy up close but other than that - she never made a big deal.

Not long ago we found out that my wife's pregnant - our first child. Before we found out the gender of the child - my wife said that if it's a boy she would want him to have a brit milah/bris (a Jewish circumcision). I was hesitant because even though we both agree to live in a Jewish household and raise our kids in the my wife's faith - I was unsure about the circumcision (also it seemed weird since I was uncut). Eventually we found our child is girl so we swept the bris issue under the rug.

But we did discuss the possibility of having a son in the future - and after talking about this - my wife agreed that if we do have a son - we will leave him intact - and if he wants to have a circumcision when he's an adult - that's up to him.

I'm a non-practicing Catholic guy and my wife is more a cultural Jew than an actual observant one. However, how common is it have a son, leave him intact and letting our son have the choice what he wants to do?
