Community Notice

There is a rumor circulating that the masjid is being permanently closed. This is not true.

The Masjid Al-Mumineen located at 3840 W Roosevelt rd Chicago, IL is not being shut down. However, the building requires urgent renovation and immediate repairs. The city has already issued a violation notice to the property owner due to necessary safety and maintenance concerns.

The required renovation and repairs will be carried out by the owner of the property. No donations are being requested or needed for this work.

It has also come to attention that some individuals have been using the masjid as a residential property. This is not permitted, as the masjid is designated solely for worship and community religious activities.

We urge all people using the masjid to vacate the property before the city takes action, as the masjid is currently declared inhabitable. This action can cost owner great amount of money.

We kindly ask all community members for their cooperation and understanding while the necessary repairs are completed. Our goal is to ensure the masjid remains open, safe, and properly maintained for everyone.

As Muslim brothers it's sad to see that the masjid is being held as hostage which is against Islamic teaching.

Thank you for your support and cooperation.
