Ghost-Eye, Amitav Ghosh
Finished this novel within 4–5 days; it is such a riveting, page-turning story. The narrative revolves around the themes of reincarnation and metempsychosis, while also exploring ichthyology, mythology and folklore. An inseparable element of Ghosh’s writing i.e. the Sundarbans along with environmental changes and their impact on both humans and endangered species, forms the core message of this story.
Although the book is a work of fiction, Ghosh’s deep research into every element and the way he intricately weaves them into the narrative make it an enriching read.
Overall an 8.5/10 read for me.
