$3,000 to rebuild your entire wardrobe

A friend of mine lost her entire wardrobe in a cross country move. The moving company will reimburse her up to $3,000 for her lost clothing items. All receipts must be clothing items to be reimbursable.

This was far less than the thousands of dollars she had spent over the years curating quality pieces from higher end retailers, thrifting, vintage, etc. She had a medium sized word wardrobe, not excessively large, with many timeless pieces.

It got me thinking, if this were to happen to me, what items would I buy if I had to create my wardrobe from scratch. Can this be done effectively for $3,000?
